This movie is brilliantly imagined and beautifully animated. look at the glistening snow fields in christmas town, or the spookly lighting effects in oogie’s lair.
I’m guessing that at this stage in the production, they hadn’t qite got the ending of the film sorted out. After all, in the original Script, Oogie Boogie was revealed to be Dr Finklestein in disguise!
I’m guessing Jack kills Lock, Shock and Barrel in this Scene. That was after all, a LOOOONG way down. I’m glad they didn’t put this in though, as I like the idea that they reformed in the end and brought the Mayor to find Jack and Sally. I can see why they cut this. It’s not in Jack’s nature to kill children, no matter what they had done. Scare them, yes but never murder them. Lock, Shock and Barrel were pranksters who meant no real harm. Annoying pranksters sure, but that’s no excuse.
You don’t watch many deleted scenes, do you? Usually, deleted scenes are deleted before music/sound effects/CGI/special effects are ever added, so when you watch them, they’re GOING to seem very barren. Obviously, if they were to keep the scene in, they would have added music and sound effects.
This is cool, but it is very weird and doesn’t fit with the rest of the movie as there is no music in this scene at all… unlike the rest of the movie which almost always has music playing…
That always bothered me too but maybe they just side with the strongest or oogie had a spell on them or something. I could be way wrong but it at least helps me make sense of it
Henry Selick was just the director of all this. The story and characterdesign and the whole concept was made by Tim Burton.
And Tim hand nothing to do with Coraline.
Also people call Henry the student of Tim in stopmotion.

Fuck. Their laugh is hillarous xD
They didn’t die in this scene; they slid down a pipe. At least, that’s what it looked like to me.
I’m pretty bummed they didn’t re-work Jack punishing the little bastards and keep it in, though. Talk about a missed Crowning Moment of Awesome.

Win.
I know i mean really, Jack would kill Oogie Boogie but not Lock Shock and Barrel. By the its me Kendall!
lock, shock, and barrel are only on the winning sidde
Uhm you guys… if you look close enough, the ground is right there….

Those are some good ideas and thanks dude!

Ok I understand how Jack found Santa and Sally but why at the end did Lock, Shock, and Barrel tell the Mayor where Jack was and start to love him?
The movie is based on a poem that Tim Burton wrote. He was also a co-writer!
Yes i know. I didnt wanted it to sound like an offensive against Henry Selick… I’ve been watching all the making offs and behind the scenes.
JUST the director?
do you realise how much work there is in directing stop motion? especially in a movie as artistic and well lit as this.
he also did the music in the recent(ish) spiderman movies IIRC
That’s what I said. Coraline was all Henry Selick, no Tim Involvement whatsoever.

I like their fangirl screams. :3
this is cool, but i’m almost glad they left it out.
i know, yet everyone always thinks its tim burton!! it annoys me alot
